H2 forecasts that portable devices will account for over 51% of total iGaming income by 2023, although many operators already report that over 50% of their income comes from portable channels, particularly in sports betting. As the pie chart demonstrates, 68% of portable income comes from betting.
Intriguingly, while Europe accounts for the majority of global portable income by region, the Asia Pacific/Middle East region has a higher percentage of portable income as a share of its total regional income. This may be due to the slow development of fixed-line broadband in some countries, particularly in Asia, where many users skipped desktops entirely and used portable devices as their first internet device.
