Anne Ward has been appointed to the Crown Resorts board. Her arrival follows a series of departures after the firm was deemed unsuitable to retain a gaming permit in New South Wales.
Ward possesses extensive experience as an executive and board director, with a background spanning various sectors. She presently holds the chair position at Redbubble and MNF Group and sits on the council of RMIT University.
This appointment arrives at a pivotal juncture for Crown Resorts as it endeavors to restore its image and regain the confidence of regulatory bodies.
The casino company, Crown Resorts, released this statement following a modified acquisition bid from the U.S.-based private equity group, Blackstone. The firm proposed purchasing all remaining shares of the Australian gaming enterprise for A$13.10 (US$9.55) per share.
This presents Crown Resorts’ Chief Executive Officer, Helen Coonan, and her directors with a significant decision to make in the near future.
Further complicating matters, the New South Wales Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority (ILGA) recently revealed intentions to pursue legislative adjustments in preparation for forming an independent casino regulatory body.
