Notwithstanding a leadership reshuffle, Cherry AB announced remarkable second-quarter earnings. Income soared by 41% to SEK 753 million (roughly $82 million USD), propelled by a 39% increase in inherent revenue.
The firm’s gains also witnessed a substantial upswing, with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) leaping 78% to SEK 165 million (approximately $18 million USD). This exceptional showing was driven by robust expansion in their internet gaming division, especially within crucial regions where they’ve cemented their foothold.
Cherry’s tactical allocations in marketing, for both established and burgeoning brands, alongside their emphasis on crafting games through subsidiaries like Yggdrasil and Highlight Games, have demonstrably yielded fruit.
Furthering the upward trajectory, Cherry obtained a fresh sports wagering permit in Poland and, via its subsidiary Game Lounge, procured two top-tier domain names: BetNJ.com for sports wagering and casino in New Jersey, and OnlineCasino.mx for the Mexican marketplace.
These advancements eclipsed the announcement of CEO Anders Holmgren’s exit, as the company seems well-prepared for sustained prosperity under its new direction.
The hunt is underway for a fresh Chief Executive, an individual to guide us toward tomorrow,” Gunnar reassured the group. He continued, “We’re exploring all avenues, considering candidates from within our ranks and beyond. The board is devoted to identifying the ideal fit. Meanwhile, I’m committed to maintaining our momentum, adhering to our strategy, and I’m confident I have the complete backing of our exceptional staff.”
