Anders Ström has assumed the position of Chairman of the Board at Kambi Group, taking over from Lars Stugemo, who recently retired after ten years in the role.
Stugemo’s choice to relinquish his position came after notifying Kambi’s nomination committee that he would not pursue another term. He endorsed Ström, a fellow co-founder of Kambi, as his successor. While Stugemo has played a vital role in Kambi’s growth over the past ten years, he believed it was the appropriate time to step down, stating he would not seek re-election at the 2024 Annual General Meeting. He expressed faith in Ström, remarking, “We are fortunate to have someone of Anders’ capabilities, a fellow founder and board member, prepared to assume the role.” He further commended Ström’s entrepreneurial drive and their successful partnership in establishing Kambi as a dominant player in the market.
Ström brings extensive experience to the position. He founded Kindred Group in 1997 and co-founded Kambi in 2010. As a longstanding board member since Kambi’s founding, he welcomes this new leadership phase with distinction.
It is with great privilege that I embrace the Kambi Board’s request to act as Chairman. I eagerly anticipate guiding the Board towards heightened achievements,” he remarked. “Kambi is on a path of robust growth, having lately secured partnerships with several collaborators who are reshaping the landscape of sports wagering.”
It’s important to mention that Ström already holds positions on both the nomination committee and the board itself. Consequently, he was excluded from the procedure of his own appointment.
