Bede Gaming Appoints Dan Whitehead as New Chief Technology Officer

Bede Gaming has designated Dan Whitehead as their latest Chief Technology Officer, succeeding Andy Wardle, who vacated the tech lead position earlier this year. Whitehead formally assumed the role on July 3, 2023.

Whitehead contributes a wealth of knowledge to Bede, having held high-ranking management roles at organizations such as Jugo, CTS, and notably Flutter, a prominent figure in the international sports wagering arena. This history, encompassing over two and a half decades, has provided him with a comprehensive grasp of intricate tech solutions and digital offerings – areas vital for Bede’s ongoing achievements, particularly as a member of the Gauselmann Group since 2020.

His expertise extends beyond the technical realm. Whitehead is recognized for his capacity to formulate a distinct technology vision and roadmap, encompassing everything from digital evolution and product development to the core elements of IT services, safeguarding, and operations.

“Joining Bede’s journey fills me with enthusiasm,” Whitehead remarked. “The company possesses a solid foundation in engineering excellence, and the potential to expand upon its current capabilities is an exhilarating opportunity.”

With his proficiency in constructing high-performing, adaptable solutions, Whitehead is anticipated to play a pivotal role in elevating Bede’s operations and efficiency. This holds particular significance as the company, which manages over £7 billion (equivalent to $9 billion) in annual wagers through its platform, sets its sights on its subsequent growth phase.

Colin Cole-Johnson, Bede’s CEO, conveyed his excitement regarding the appointment, stating, “We are pleased to welcome Dan to the team. As CTO, he will be essential in propelling our technology strategy, collaborating across all facets of the business. He will be an indispensable part of Bede, both internally and externally, and his vast experience in technology leadership makes him the perfect candidate for this position.”

This tech firm has been active! They didn’t just release several major updates, but they also restructured their executive team. Kristi Stewart became the top legal officer in 2023, while Cole Johnson assumed the role of chief executive back in March 2022. It appears they’re preparing for a significant endeavor!
